Folk artist Yu Guiming showed a Chinese parasol leaf engraved with the image of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in Shangcheng county, Henan province. Yu, 57, who is skilled at drawing, prepares the leaves for carving, and boils them in a special chemical and soaks them in water. He then uses an engraving tool and magnifier to carve images onto them.
