Everyday life is full of contradictions, and artist Venkat Bothsa has tried to depict the same through his works.

In his latest exhibition, titled Engima 2014, the artist has painted Bollywood celebrities, advertisements, flowers, birds, technological gadgets, cars and billboards among other things, on human and animal sculptures.

"I've tried to paint every thought in a human mind, based on my observation of our society. On the one hand, ecological balances are deteriorating and some people are trying to save mother Earth, while on the other, environment-unfriendly inventions are being introduced each day. My work is a simple representation of this paradox," says Bothsa.

The artist's creations are made using clay and fibreglass, which make them extremely light to handle. Some of his sculptures also include a clock. "The clock's ticking symbolises the human race's need to be careful before we completely destroy what we have been given," he says.

The exhibition is on till December 23, at India Fine Art Gallery, Film Centre Building, 68 Tardeo Road, from 11 am to 7 pm.
