This weekend, the Hathautee Tribal Arts and Craft Festival held in Juhu will organise workshops and exhibitions on tribal Indian arts. The ongoing festival that started on March 1 aims to bring together potters and tribal artisans from across the country to conduct workshops and demonstrations that will educate locals about the craft. An exhibition will also feature handicrafts including patachitra, a folk art from Orissa, minitature paintings and handwoven sarees.

"This festival aims to give artisans a platform," says Leena Borkar, organiser. "We also wanted to bring an arts festival to the suburbs as many art fairs are usually held in south Mumbai."
