Art lovers of Delhi, you will never be lost again. The city now has a map offering addresses of, and directions to most of the Capital’s galleries and cultural centres. Generated by the India Arts Summit and powered by Google maps, the Art and Culture Map of Delhi is your one-stop guide to all things arty.
Currently being updated, each gallery on the map will have names of on-going exhibitions and artists on display.
“As of now it’s a work-in-progress, but there will be a fortnightly update of whatever shows are on. Spaces like the Vadehra Gallery Bookstore and cultural and historical sites will also be part of the map,” explains Neha Kripal, associate director, India Arts Summit. Also aimed at tourists visiting India, the map offers names of some prominent hotels allowing them to map their distance from the city’s best art. “The idea is to take art to everyone and make it more and more accessible to the masses. This is one step in that direction,” adds Kripal.
So, the next time you’re heading to some part of the town and aren’t quite sure what to do, log on to http://www.indiaartsummit.com/Art-Map-Delhi.asp and get arty.
