Bhopal: Man arrested for raping 11-year-old daughter

The police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping his minor daughter.

An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father in Bhopal, the police said on Tuesday. The accused has been arrested.

According to the police, the victim, who lived with her father, grandmother and three younger siblings, was alone in her house when the incident occurred.

The accused, 30, was an inebriated state at the time of the incident, police added.

After the victim informed her grandmother about the incident, the latter lodged a complaint with police. Subsequently, the FIR was registered.

Investigation officer (IO) Kanchan Singh Rajput said that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail after being produced in the court.

“A medical examination of victim has been done and she is fine. She will either be sent to her grandmother or a juvenile home,” Rajput said.
