Bhopal: Wanted UP gangster fires at cops; injures two, escapes

Two policemen were injured when they were shot at by a wanted criminal from Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred near Habibganj Naka in Bhopal on late Saturday night.

Ashu Dixit, who is wanted by UP police, opened fire at the policemen when they were on their way to arrest him. The police had got information about his movement in Bagh Sewania.

When the joint UP-MP police team went to nab him, he fired repeatedly and later escaped. Crime branch policeman Raghvendra Pandey and a UP special task force (STF) personnel Sandeep Mishra received bullet injuries.

Both have been admitted to hospital. Dixit managed to escape. After the incident, the police announced a cash reward on the arrest of Dixit, who is a gangster from UP, and is wanted in several heinous crimes.
