Talking to reporters at his residence in Bhopal, the Congress General Secretary said that when he was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the BJP had dubbed him as an 'anti-employee man.'

Singh said that despite this tag, no police action had taken place against any government employee during 10 years of his rule. He said that in sharp contrast, police has staged a lathi-charge on agitating professors in the state very recently.

Singh said that this week police had also opened fire on innocent tribals at a village in the Dindori district and added, "we condemn this."

The Congress General Secretary said that the families of the victims must be given adequate compensation and a judicial inquiry must be ordered into the police firing at Dindori district.
