MP: CBI quizzes 10 people in death of ex-IFS officer

Nearly 10 persons were interrogated by the CBI officials on Wednesday in connection with the mysterious death of former IFS officer from Madhya Pradesh Vijay Bahadur.

Nearly 10 persons were interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Wednesday in connection with the mysterious death of former IFS officer from Madhya Pradesh Vijay Bahadur.

The former IFS officer was found dead on a railway track near Belpahra station in Jharsuguda district in Odisha recently.

CBI sources said the station master of Belpahra railway station, points’ men who were on duty and the railway employee who first spotted the body were quizzed. Sources said the station master was questioned for nearly three hours.

Later, the CBI team, which reached Belpahra from Bhopal on Tuesday, also collected details from the Government Railway Police (GRP).

“We provided them all the details about the investigation we have done so far,” superintendent of railway police (GRP) KS Kawar told HT over phone.

Sources said that the CBI officials will stay at Jharsuguda for one more day.

Vijay Bahadur was associated with the Madhya Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) since 2010 and was central observer in at least 17 examinations conducted by Vyapam.

Two examinations in which Bahadur was central observer were allegedly rigged and being investigated by the CBI.
