MP: Cop's brother found dead, body recovered from water tank

An SPS officer's brother posted in Bhopal was found dead in a water tank at his residence in Chhattarpur on Monday morning. According to sources, Krishna Kumar Pauranik stayed alone.

An SPS officer's brother posted in Bhopal was found dead in a water tank at his residence in Chhatarpur on Monday morning.

The deceased, Krishna Kumar Pauranik, brother of Awadesh Pauranik, posted at Police Headquarters in Bhopal, had gone missing two days ago. During investigation, police recovered Krishna Kumar's body from the water tank. Police also found liquor bottles near the tank, officials said.

Chhatarpur superintendent of police (SP) Lalit Shakyavar ruled out the possibility of murder but he said police are investigating the case. "I would be able to comment only after completion of investigation."

According to sources, Krishna stayed alone and was socially cut-off. Neighbours said they never saw any visitors at his home.
