MP: Missing tribal’s body found, Maoists’ hand suspected

A 23-year-old tribal man was killed allegedly by Maoists on the suspicion of being a police informer at Bondari village in Balaghat district.

A 23-year-old tribal man was killed allegedly by Maoists on the suspicion of being a police informer at Bondari village in Balaghat district. His mutilated body was found on a road the outskirts of the village on Friday.

Kartik Dhurvey was allegedly abducted by the Maoists on November 9, but no missing report was filed by his family members. Police suspect hand of Tada Dalam or Malajkhand area Dalam behind the murder. Balaghat superintendent of police Amit Sanghi said: “There were multiple wounds on the body, which were inflicted by some sharp-edged weapon…The man was not a police informer.”

Maoists activity in Balaghat, the district worst affected by left-wing extremism in the state, have increased over the last few months.
