MP: Six detained for allegedly shooting at ex-MLA Bundela

A day after former BJP MLA Vijay Bahadur Singh Bundela was shot at during a dispute over panchayat poll results in Chhatarpur district, the police detained about six, sources said on Tuesday.

A day after former BJP MLA Vijay Bahadur Singh Bundela was shot at during a dispute over panchayat poll results in Chhatarpur district, the police detained about six, sources said on Tuesday.

Additional superintendent of police (Chhatarpur), Neeraj Pandey said a case has been registered against 14 persons, including Pran Singh, Brijbhan Singh and Munnu Singh, for attempt to murder, involuntary causing hurt and intentional insult.

“Seven police teams have been formed and they have been fanned out in different areas of the district,” Pandey told HT, adding that all accused would be nabbed soon.

Lalit Shakywar, superintendent of police, Chhatarpur district, has also announced a reward of `5,000 each on Pran, Brijbhan and Munnu on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the minister was operated upon Monday night. Sources said more surgeries could be done soon. He was airlifted to Delhi after preliminary treatment at Chhatarpur district hospital.

Vijay Bahadur Singh Bundela, 54, sustained an injury in his abdomen in a clash that erupted after the result of Barigarh Japad panchayat’s presidential poll was announced on Monday.
