Actor Aamir Khan is getting a lot of love from his industry colleagues and cricket superstars on his birthday. Actors Katrina Kaif, Madhuri Dixit and Kamal Haasan wished the star as he turned 54 on Thursday. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also shared a quirky birthday wish for him on Twitter.

Aamir Khan got wishes from celebs on his birthday.

“Wishing my dear friend, @aamir_khan a very happy birthday! “A”, kya bolta tu?,” he wrote in his tweet. Katrina, who worked with Aamir in Dhoom 3 and Thugs of Hindostan. “Happy birthday Aamir Khan. One day we will finish our game of chess and know who is the winner,” Katrina wrote in a picture shared on her Instagram stories.

Madhuri also shared a tweet for Aamir. “I still remember you pulling a prank on me while shooting for #Dil. Remembering those fun moments and many more on your birthday dearest @aamir_khan! Wishing you a fantastic day ahead. Stay blessed!,” she wrote in her tweet. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan also wished the actor.

Aamir on Thursday announced that his next project is an official adaptation of Tom Hanks’ classic Forrest Gump. The Hindi adaptation will be titled Lal Singh Chaddha, which he will co-produce with Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

The film will be directed by Secret Superstar helmer Advait Chandan. It is being made by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions together. “We have bought the rights from Paramount... I am playing the lead role of Lal Singh,” Aamir told reporters in Mumbai.

Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis, released in 1994 and went on to win six Oscars, including best picture, best director and best actor for Hanks. The film, based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name, follows Forrest Gump, a man from Alabama, who witnesses and unwittingly influences several historical events in 20th century USA.

The actor also revealed he would be sporting a turban “for some part of the film”. Aamir was last seen in Yash Raj Films’ Thugs of Hindostan alongside megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
