When you ask Abhishek Bachchan about his favourite co-star, apart from the obvious of course, you wait in eager anticipation to hear the names of the ruling divas of Bollywood. But junior Bachchan spills water on all your hopes when he says: “After Ash (wife Aishwarya), dad (Amitabh Bachchan) is my favourite co-star!”

The father-son duo have appeared together in many films, including Bunty Aur Babli (2005), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007), Sarkar Raj (2008) and, of course, the much-loved Paa (2009), where Big B played his son.
“Just like in real life, we have a great understanding even on the sets, and the comfort level is always there with him,” says the 37-year-old, who was recently in town to talk about the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) that’ll be held in Macau from July 4 to 6. “I am excited because I will be performing there this year,” adds Bachchan, who’s currently busy shooting for Dhoom 3 as well as Farah Khan’s forthcoming film, Happy New Year.
And when do we see him paired with his wife next? “We want to work together but we aren’t getting the right script that suits us both,” he says. Moving on, now that his daughter Aaradhya will also be walking the red carpet with mom and grandpa at the Cannes Film Festival, ask him if he feels disturbed by the constant speculation about what they’ll wear, and he says, “Such speculation is natural ... after all, we are stars and there’s no harm in people keeping an eye on our wardrobe.”
