To spend some quiet, quality time with his wife Twinkle Khanna, on the occasion of their 12th wedding anniversary (on January 17), actor Akshay Kumar booked the Presidential Suite at the Taj Mahal Palace in Colaba. Apparently, this is the same suite that was reserved by Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, on his visit to India to promote Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol in December 2011.

Akshay wanted to spend just a few hours with Twinkle without being disturbed or distracted by anyone. He knew they would never get that kind of privacy at home, which is why he went ahead and booked the suite,” says an insider close to the actor. “It’s just a coincidence that this happens to be the same suite that Tom Cruise had booked as well.”

Even though Akshay was caught up at the music launch of his upcoming film, Special 26, at Regal theatre in Colaba, he quickly wrapped up the event and rushed to the hotel to join Twinkle.

“Their kids, Aarav and Nitara, were not with them. Akshay has been occupied with back-to-back releases (OMG: Oh My God! and Khiladi 786; 2012) and now for some time, he will remain busy with Special 26. That is why, he wanted to do something to make Twinkle feel special,” reveals the source.
Despite repeated attempts, Akshay remained unavailable for a comment.
