Akshay Kumar is continuing to build on the momentum of his record-breaking new film, Gold. The actor shared a new behind-the-scenes video from the film on his Instagram account.

The video is a quick montage of the film’s ensemble cast - all led by Akshay, of course - playing various sports on the sets. While the film tells the fictional - albeit based on historical events - story of independent India’s first Olympic gold medal in hockey, Akshay wrote alongside the new video that the cast played ‘every sport possible.’

“#Gold maybe a sports drama with hockey at it’s centre but the sets of Gold witnessed every sport possible...let the games begin,” he wrote, and tagged the film’s cast including Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor and others. The video has been viewed over a million times already.

It shows the cast playing everything from cricket and football to marbles and even Uno. “It started because I wanted everyone to bond,” Akshay says. The highlight of the video is perhaps Mouni Roy’s arm wrestling match with another actor, which she loses, but with a smile on her face.

Gold registered a career-best opening day for Akshay at the box office. The film made Rs 25 crore, beating out direct competition from John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate, which made Rs 20 crore. The film has also been a hit with critics and audiences, with the Hindustan Times review praising Akshay’s central performance, and awarding it three-and-a-half stars out of five.
