Dharma Productions’ next presentation, Kalank, which will release on April 17, is among the most anticipated films of 2019. With a stellar cast including Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the film is a period drama, set in 1940s.

Now, it has come to light that Dharma Productions built a Rs 10 crore set in Filmcity in Mumbai to recreate the era. According to a report in Filmfare, a palace was built in Mumbai’s Filmcity, which will represent old Delhi.

A glimpse of it was visible in the teaser too. The two-minute teaser featured the entire cast of the film, and transported one to the 1940s era.

I am raised by strong women and I would say that these three women characters are the heart, soul and spine of Kalank. So, their strength, beauty and intellect (is something) men could never match up.” Adding to it, Sonakshi said: “Hopefully, a time will come when such questions will not pop up any more.”

Presented by Fox Star Studios, the film is produced by Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, and co-produced by Fox Star Studios.
