Amitabh Bachchan thanked his fans for their concern as their family grieves the passing away of daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s father-in-law, the late Rajan Nanda.

Businessman Rajan Nanda passed away on Sunday evening and his entire family, Nandas, Bachchans and Kapoors, came together to bid him final goodbye. Amitabh Bachchan returned to India from Bulgaria, where he was currently based for the ongoing shoot of his new film Brahmastra, to be by the side of his daughter Shweta Bachchan’s grieving family in Delhi.

The Bachchan family also issued an advertisement in newspapers, paying their last respects to Nanda.

Earlier, after hearing the news, Amitabh had penned a philosophical post on his blog, saying that the sooner one accepts an untoward incident, the happier one is. He wrote, “Yes, the personal tragedy is now in discloser and transmitted… but it had a lead… a lead of distress and anxiety and apprehension from a time of some immediate length… the obvious nested facts were not pressed into the print of this page, but there were hidden hints of them in it. My hidden heart can bleed within… unseen… but it takes not away the pain of its emission,” he wrote.

While still in Bulgaria, he had tweeted, “My relative Mr Rajan Nanda, Nikhil’s father and father-in-law of Shweta, just passed away. Leaving for India.”

It may be recalled that Bachchans and Nandas share another common link--the Kapoor Khandan of Bollywood. Late Rajan Nanda’s wife, Ritu, is the eldest daughter of the late Raj Kapoor. A couple of years back, she has penned a biography of her legendary father. Nanda leaves behind his wife Ritu, son Nikhil, daughter Natasha, daughter-in-law Shweta, grandchildren Navya Naveli and Agastya.
