Arshad’s courtroom comic stint

After playing an entire spectrum of crooks, from the gold-laden Circuit of the Munna Bhai series to Babban of Ishqiya who prefers women, Arshad Warsi is set to don the black robe of a lawyer in his next film Jolly LLB.

“Arshad is a perfect fit for the role of a small town lawyer trying to fit into the Delhi courts. He looks the part and has proved with his previous work that he can easily match the mannerisms and body language too,” said director Subhash Kapoor.

Third from Kapoor of Phas Gaye Re Obama fame, the satire will take a look at the haloed courts of justice and its daily proceedings. “During my days as a journalist I had the opportunity to see many court-proceedings and it is so unlike the cliche Bollywood idea. A courtroom is the perfect setting for a comedy,” said the filmmaker.
