While makers these days are leaving no stone unturned to promote their films, Ayushmann Khurrana believes they shouldn’t go overboard with their efforts. The actor seems to be irked that the promotional video made for his next, Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Sala, which features an intimate scene.

“Kissing scenes shouldn’t be part of promotional videos. It looks like you’re desperate to grab eyeballs. Films like Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Vicky Donor (2012) also had such scenes, but they were left to be seen in the film,” says Ayushmann, who has a long kissing scene with actor Pooja Salvi in Nautanki Sala. The actor further argues that including such scenes in the promotional video may not go down to well with the audiences and that they might even get repulsed.

“It draws a completely different picture of the film, which might not be liked by everyone,” he says. Nautanki Sala, which is set to hit theatres on April 12, revolves around the lives of two friends played by Ayushmann and Kunal Roy Kapoor. Debutant Pooja Salvi and actor Evelyn Sharma play the female leads.
