Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures on Thursday.
Director Sabbir Khan’s film has become the third highest opener of 2016 after Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan (Rs 19.20 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s Airlift (Rs 12.35 crore).

Baaghi opened across 2750 screens in India and nearly 344 screens overseas. The movie, which was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainmen, was released on 29 April.
The film is an action-packed love story adapted from two films, Indonesian movie The Raid: Redemption (2001) and the 2004 Telugu release Varsham. While the reviews have been mixed, the film has got accolades for its action scenes. Shroff is seen performing Kalaripayattu, a martial art form, in the film.
