Badla box office day 3: Despite India vs Australia and Captain Marvel, Amitabh Bachchan film beats Pink with Rs 23.2 cr earning
Badla box office day 3: With Rs 23.2 crore in its kitty after the first weekend, the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu film has done better than Pink and 102 Not Out despite Sunday giving limited footfalls due to India vs Australia ODI.
Badla, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, has received a good response at the box office despite clashing with Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Captain Marvel and getting limited footfalls on Sunday due to the India vs Australia ODI cricket match. The thriller has earned Rs 23 crore during the first weekend at the box office, outdoing Pink and 102 Not Out.
Sharing Badla box office figures, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#Badla has surpassed *opening weekend* biz of #Pink and #102NotOut... 2019: #Badla Rs 23.20 cr 2016: #Pink Rs 21.51 cr 2018: #102NotOut Rs 16.65 cr India biz.”
He also tweeted, “Badla is a success story... Glowing word of mouth converts into footfalls, consolidates its BO status... Metros/multiplexes splendid... Tier-2 cities join the party on Day 2 and 3... Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 8.55 cr, Sun 9.61 cr. Total: Rs 23.20 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: Rs 27.38 cr.”
On the other hand, Brie Larson’s female superhero to get her own stand-alone MCU film, Captain Marvel, had collected around Rs 27 crore till Saturday. The film has received a wonderful response at the Indian box office and is guaranteed to be a hit. Taran had shared the two-day collections of the film on Sunday. He had tweeted, “CaptainMarvel witnesses limited growth on Day 2, but the 2-day total is excellent... #English version outperforms... Targets ₹ 40 cr+ total in its opening weekend... Fri 13.01 cr, Sat 14.10 cr. Total: Rs 27.11 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: Rs 32.28 cr. All versions.”
Meanwhile, according to a report on Boxofficeindia.com, the earlier release Total Dhamaal has collected Rs 136 crore at the domestic box office, with Rs 7.75 crore coming in its third weekend. Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Luka Chuppi collected around Rs 11.85 crore in its second weekend. It stands at around Rs 65 crore at the domestic box office.
