Even as Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam continues to try and overcome the legal quagmire it is caught in, Bejoy Nambiar’s David has got a clean release, without competition, across the country.

“We were discussing the release date for some time. Initially, Vishwaroopam was set to release across the country today, but when it got stuck, we decided we can’t keep waiting,” says director and co-producer Bejoy.

He adds that he would have “moved the date” had Haasan’s film released on the same day. “It’s such a mixed feeling. As a filmmaker from the fraternity, I am feeling frustrated that a legend like Kamal has to go through all this,” he says.
