Last we saw him in was in the dud, Blue. Well, he was in Anjaana Anjaani, too, but the blink-and-miss appearance can hardly be counted! But, actor Zayed Khan is in no mood to concede that he’s out of work. In fact, he says that he’s busy with ‘other things’, including setting up a production house with actor and ‘good friend’ Dia Mirza.

Just friends
“I and Dee (Dia Mirza) have been friends for God knows how many years. Our sensibilities match quite a lot. We both have a passion for film–making. It is a trade of heart and soul. We will start with making contemporary candy floss entertaining movies. Also, we will make sure that they are economically sound. I want to make movies that touch peoples’ hearts. The film should be the star,” says the 30 year old.

Production aside, he’s not averse to the idea of direction either. “You never know, yaar. There is never a never for me,” he says. Asked why he is always seen in multi-starrers, given that he has done no more than two solo films, Zayed says, “I like doing action films, which are mostly multi-starrers. What’s wrong with that anyway?”

Zayed KhanRubbishing rumours

Khan also categorically rebuts reports that his brother-in-law Hrithik Roshan walked out of his home production, Welcome To The Jungle. "My dad (Sanjay Khan) wanted to make this film, but it has been lying in the back burner. We shunned the idea long back. So, there is no truth in Hrithik walking out of it. Hrithik mera bhai hai... usse bina baat mein beech mein le aaye," he says, not too pleased with the rumours.

Daddy cool
The actor, who has two films in the pipeline — Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene and Tezz — likes to play a doting father when he’s not working.

Talking about his two-year-old son, Ziddan, he says, “He is such a bundle of joy. It is amazing how a child can change your entire life. I have a different name for every movie he watches (he laughs). He starts calling me by my character’s name as soon as he watches the film.”

In town to promote fashion label, Roxton, Zayed is also looking forward to starting a fashion line with the brand. “I love clothes and travelling, and so I know a lot about global fashion,” he says.
