A cold war is brewing between the hottest girls on the big screen right now — Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone. Bips, 32, seems peeved at her Dum Maaro Dum co-star for hogging the limelight in the movie’s promos. The film’s first look features 25-year-old Padukone and not her, giving many the impression that Padukone is playing the lead role when in fact, she is. The popularity of the film’s item number featuring Dips has only added to the fire.



Basu, in turn, is giving the flick’s promotional events a miss, and instead promoting her forthcoming Hollywood film, Singularity. "Bipasha is busy working for her film Singularity, and has done her bit for Dum Maaro Dum," says the film’s spokesperson.



Even as Bips stays tightlipped about the apparent tension between her and Padukone, she confirms not being part of the promotions and

saving the dates for other things: "It is unfortunate, as I’m bound by contract to block the dates for Singularity. I am unable to travel for the promotions, but I believe the focus and hard work I put into each film is the same." Dum Maaro Dum hits theatres on April 22.
