Bollywood multiplex chains eyeing Middle East markets

Mukta Arts has opened a new six-screen multiplex with a total seating capacity of 960 persons in Bahrain, the company said in a statement.

Subhash Ghai-backed Mukta Arts, which operates a theatre chain under the brand Mukta A2 Cinemas has forayed into the Middle East region by opening a multiplex in Bahrain.

Mukta Arts has opened a new six-screen multiplex with a total seating capacity of 960 persons in Bahrain, the company said in a statement.

The addition, which has come in association with VKL Group would be in Juffair Mall and would boast of options for movies from Hollywood, Arabic and Bollywood, it added.

Mukta Arts Chairman Subhash Ghai said, “We are one of the first Indian exhibitors to design, conceptualise and build a theater in a foreign country. I have no doubt that there are many more such steps to come in the near future.”

Mukta A2 Cinemas has 41 screens in India in cities like, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bhopal Kundli, Dehradun and Aunragabad.
