Bollywood Hungama reports that the actor has written in a letter to wife Maanyata requesting they should organize a charity event and collect funds for the Uttarakhand flood victims instead of spending the money on promotions.

Reacting to the development, Policegiri producer Rahul Aggarwal, says, "It's very touching that Sanjay actually decided to collect funds for these victims rather than promoting the movie in Dubai."

Adding further, Aggarwal says, "This is not the first time he has been involved in charity. During tsunami too, Sanjay had raised about Rs. 2 crores for the victims."

Meanwhile, the makers have also decided to screen Policegiri at Yerawada Jail where Dutt is currently imprisoned. Producer Aggarwal says, "Yes, we have spoken to the DG of that prison as well as the home ministry regarding a small screening for Sanjay and his fellow mates in prison. But we are awaiting a confirmation from them."

Policegiri is an action drama, starring Sanjay Dutt, Prachi Desai and Prakash Raj.
