Famous for power-packed roles in films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003) and Yeh Saali Zindagi that released earlier this year, actor Chitrangda Singh is now busy with Sudhir Mishra’s Inkaar that revolves around the theme of sexual harassment at the workplace.
It was reported earlier that the actor will be doing some bold bedroom scenes opposite Arjun Rampal in the film. But Chitrangda, although confirming some level of intimacy between the characters, refuses to call the scenes bold. She adds that harassment can also be a crude remark or simply the way a person looks at you. “To depict harassment, you don’t have to show how women are being molested. Yes, there are some intimate scenes but I won’t call them bold,” she adds. “Inkaar has loads of drama, which makes my role performance-oriented,” says the actor, adding the film shows that it’s very tough to prove harassment.
Calling the role a challenging one, Chitrangda feels it needed a lot of personal involvement. But ask her if there’s any real-life inspiration and she says, “Every woman is my inspiration. After all, all women face some kind of harassment at some level.” Inkaar is set in the advertising world and for the role, the actor spoke to a couple of her friends who happen to be HR heads of various ad companies. “Plus, I met people who work in corporate set-ups. They told me what they go through on day-to-day basis,” she says.
