Emraan Hashmi to write and produce a movie where he will play the lead

Emraan Hashmi has decided to write the script for his next movie.

Several actors have taken to production in recent times. While Priyanka Chopra is promoting Marathi, Punjabi and Bhojpuri films under her production banner, Anushka Sharma is backing low-budget projects. Emraan Hashmi is the next celebrity to catch the wave.

The actor will make his debut as a producer with his next movie, in which he plays the titular role. He will also be writing the script for the film.

“Emraan will start working on the script next month. He will dedicate the whole of October to it,” says the source. Emraan confirms the news, and says, “At times, we do not give enough time to scripting. Apart from conducting research for a movie, we need to focus on getting the script right.”

The actor adds that he wishes to provide the audience with “something new” with his production debut. “A run-of-the-mill film will last a year or two. The audience is hungry for conceptual cinema that is based on different subjects,” says Emraan.
