Goa government to honour Rohit Shetty

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who has shot most of his films in Goa, will be honoured by the state govt at the ongoing International Film Festival of India on Friday. He is being recognised for showcasing Goa in a positive light.

Director Rohit Shetty, who has shot a majority of his films in Goa, is set to be honoured by the state at the International Film Festival of India on Friday. He is being recognised for showing Goa in a good light in his movies.



"Rohit first received a call from the chief minister of Goa, who invited him to the ceremony. Then a couple of days ago, he also received an official letter regarding the same," says an insider close to him. The will reach Goa for the event on Friday.



Apart from the Golmaal trilogy, Rohit has also shot Ajay Devgn’s Singham (2011) and Shah Rukh Khan’s in Goa.

"He has always felt a special connect with the place. Probably what’s why almost all his films, except Bol Bachchan (2012), have either been shot there entirely or in parts," adds the insider. Despite repeated attempts, Rohit couldn’t be reached for a comment.
