Director Luv Ranjan, who is basking in the success of his film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS), is already working on his next film, albeit, this time, as a producer. His untitled project stars actors Ajay Devgn and Tabu. This will be the first time that the filmmaker will work with established names.
His previous films — the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, Akaash Vaani (2013), and SKTKS — revolved around the lives of young people, played by newcomers.
Does he have a different approach this time?
“When you see the film, you will realise why I need an Ajay Devgn in this. This is probably the first time that I have written a film where the protagonist is not 25 or 26 years old. When you need a slightly more mature character, you need to go to more established actors. Rarely will you see a 35-year-old being launched in the industry,” Ranjan explains.
He clarifies that it isn’t as if he didn’t want to earlier work with big stars. “I don’t have anything against working with established stars! It’s just that my stories never needed them. It wasn’t any set rule or formula,” he says.
