Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel is pushing toward greater armament independence even while thanking the United States for military support, arguing that after October’s attack Israel rewrote its security doctrine, created deeper buffer zones around Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, struck Iran and its regional axis directly, and remains committed to preventing Tehran from ever obtaining nuclear weapons, while warning that any new attack on Israel will be met with an even more powerful response.
