Come April 5 and Housefull 2 is confident of making a sound entry in theatres, literally. Sajid Khan’s ambitious project will come with a special sound system in select theatres. “We are working on a new sound system for Housefull 2. Since the film has a lot of stylised action, we needed new sound technology to do justice to it, says Sajid.

As a result, makers are working on installing a 7.1-channel sound system in select theatres, instead of the 5.1 we use. “We plan to put two extra rear channels behind the seats,” says Sajid, adding the idea is to augment the movie viewing experience for their audiences, who expect a lot of action, comedy and fun from the Housefull franchise.

“With the new technology, we hope to live up to the expectations,” says Sajid, whose sequel to the 2010 hit will also feature a lot of action sequences shot across Thailand. An elaborate fight scene between Akshay Kumar and John Abraham has, in fact, been designed by Sajid himself. But it has been executed by Thai stunt-master Nung, who has worked on films like Rambo (2008) and Ong Bak (2003).

“After Housefull 2, people will know me as Sajid Khan -- the action director too. I have always loved action. So, it was an opportunity for me to work on my fantasies,” says Sajid, who also has plans for Part 3.
