How Sonam Kapoor became the 'royal misfit' for Khoobsurat
You expect Sonam Kapoor to always be impeccably dressed, even in her films. But as Khoobsurat's new posters show, the actor is indeed 'the royal misfit' in this one!bollywood Updated: Jul 21, 2014 12:19 IST
Sonam Kapoor revealed two posters of her upcoming film Khoobsurat on Twitter, which co-stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.
The posters are colourful and fun, and carry the film's tagline 'The Royal Misfit'.
The fashionista Sonam seems to have taken a break from her style credentials and is wearing a mismatch of colours and designs in the film, probably to justify the 'misfit' in the film.
One of the posters also feature other stars in the film including Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah and Amir Raza Hussain among others.
A remake of the 1980 Rekha-starrer, Khoobsurat is being helmed by Shashanka Ghosh. However, the makers have claimed that this Sonam Kapoor-starrer will not be a copy of the Hrishikesh Mukherji film.
Talking about her character Mili in the film, Sonam had earlier said, "The spirit is the same (as Rekha's character). The characters are also the same. But the milieu and circumstances have been changed. I thoroughly enjoyed playing a character that Rekhaji played so wonderfully in the past."
She added, "We had the rights to the film and we took the character, spirit of the character and have put her in another setting. It is nothing like the old film at all. It's just the essence and charm of the girl that's the same. She comes and changes people's lives. And that was the essence of Khubsoorat."
The film's trailer will be released later on Monday.
