Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya earns Rs 33.74 crore over weekend
Varun Dhawan's hit the road running with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya: it's already his biggest grosser till date. The film opened to a massive collection on the first day of its release (Rs9.02 crore), and capped it with a whopping Rs33.74 crore over the weekend.
Varun Dhawan's probably getting into the 'rubbing-his-eyes-in-disbelief' routine more regularly than what he would have done in his entire life.
With a whopping Rs 9.02 crore opening day collection on Friday, followed by Rs 11.25 crore on Saturday, Dhawan's latest film, , has turned out to be his biggest grosser till date.
Alia-Varun-starrer Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya followed it up with another impressive show over the weekend: collecting an unprecedented Rs 33.74 crore. Overseas too, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya continued setting new benchmarks on the ticket counter: it earned $ 294,000 (Rs. 1.76 cr) in just two days of its release.
Earlier, Varun had said he worked the hardest on this film, which also stars Alia Bhatt. "To be honest, I worked harder on Humpty than my last film, Main Tera Hero. I did many workshops. I never did workshops in Main Tera Hero. There was a lot more improvisation in my dad's film. Humpty's director Shashank Khaitan is a different school. He controlled my expressions. I normally do a half-smile on camera. He showed me how to smile fully. I also delivered my lines slower, much slower."
