Unlike others, I don’t work for fame: Imran Khan
Actor Imran Khan says that unlike a lot of other actor he is not fond of being in the limelight. The Katti Batti star says he works only because he enjoys the filmmaking process.Updated: Oct 14, 2015 17:52 IST
Actor Imran Khan says that it is only the process of filmmaking that interests him and not the fame that accompanies it. The 32-year-old says that unlike many of his contemporaries, he is not fond of being in the limelight. “My reason for working are different than that of a lot of other people. A lot of people work for fame. They do movies, social appearances and are very active on Twitter and Instagram. Across a variety of media, people work and do things to bolster your stardom. That is their personal stardom. That doesn’t attract me. To me, the only interesting thing is the process of making a movie. And as a by-product, you become recognisable and famous. But that is not my motivation,” he says.
The actor adds that he only wants to use his stardom to promote his projects and nothing else. “When I was on a break, I stayed out of everything. I didn’t have people sending out stories. I was not giving interviews. It serves the purpose of promoting my films and has no other value personally,” says Imran, who was last seen in Katti Batti, after a gap of two years.

Imran says that he is not someone who doesn’t think about work once he is home. “The second my work is done, my phone goes off, as I have no interest in talking about movies and work after that. I am very clear about separating my personal life from my work,” he says.
