"I feel I will make original films as long as I can. Till my mind is functioning, I will make original films as the joy is greater with these films," Hirani told reporters while presenting the film Anand at the 16th Mumbai Film Festival.

Hirani Friday presented Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Anand at the gala, and says he loves the filmmaker's works as well as those of Gulzar, who wrote the movie.

"I grew up watching Hrishikesh Mukherjee's films. I think I was in primary when I watched Anand. It just caught my attention... the way the film was written. I am a big fan of Gulzar and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. I just love them."
