“Nobody knew who I was before the film. I was just another regular human being before I worked in Gangs of Wasseypur and after that, its been really wonderful. People come up to me and ask for selfies and photos. I owe my life to Gangs of Wasseypur,” he says.

Zeishan Quadri is excited about returning to Dhanbad in Gangs of Wasseypur 3

Zeishan who apart from writing the script for the two films also played the role in Gangs of Wasseypur 2, is now writing the story for the third installment of the film. “We haven’t decided who is going to be in the film as yet.The story will be between the first and second installment. You might call it Gangs of Wasseypur 1.5,” he says.

“I am really excited about the film. Yes there’s a bit of pressure because the first two parts did so well and were loved by so many. But I am sure, if I manage to write a good story, people will like this as well,” he says. Zeishan, who later directed Merathiya Gangsters (2015) is now shifting genres and apart from Gangs Of Wasseypur 3, he is working a romantic film.

“I am writing a story on Romeo and Juliet. I wanted to do something different. Something different from from gangsters,” he says. However he doesn’t rule out violence from his romantic films. “ Violence toh SRK aur Salman ki movies mein bhi hoti hai. To meri film mein kyu na ho. I mean there was a love story in Gangs of Wasseypur. So in this one if there is a romance between a boy and a girl, and a gang war happens in between, you can’t stop that can you?” he adds.
