After her film Hate Story 2 (2014), actor Surveen Chawla says that all she was only offered bold roles, which she just did not want to take up. The 31-year-old, who was last seen in an item number in Aneez Bazmee’s recent release, says that she wants to try different things now. "I have tried to make the best of what I have been offered. After Hate Story 2, I went through a phase where I was only offered eroticas. But I wanted to do other kind of films, and refused them all. There came a stage when I’d not even read the script, and say no the moment I found out the film was an erotica. Ihave finally started getting different offers," she says.

The actor adds that she wants to be part of a love story. "I am totally dying to do something absolutely mainstream, like a proper Bollywood love story which has commercial value. But my role has to be significant, I wouldn’t want to be a piece of furniture in it," she says.

Surveen’s film Parched was showcased at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada, and the actor couldn’t be happier. "The film is so special to me. It is about three sexually oppressed women and you will completely empathise with them. The film is about empowering women and liberating them," she says, adding, "I have learned so much through the film, my character has really impacted me in a big way."
