If I ever work with dad, it will be grand: Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt says that she is open to the idea of working in a film made under her family banner.
Alia Bhatt is one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood today. In fact, her father, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, had recently said that Alia "is a star in her own world, and I don't work with stars". The 22-year-old actor, however, feels that she has no qualms in working with her family's production house.
"I think these (her father's remark that she is too big a star) are just excuses that he is making (smiles). If dad wants to cast me, he will go ahead with it. But if it ever happens, it will be done properly. I don't want to do a random film in a hurry. Whenever it happens, it will be grand," says Alia.
While there have been rumours that Alia might work with her sister, actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt, both of them have rubbished the speculation. In fact, the latter's name came up at a recent event, when Alia was asked if her upcoming film, directed by Vikas Bahl, is inspired by Pooja's 1991 hit, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin. "I don't think it's inspired," said Alia, adding, "The father-daughter angle is there in everybody's life. Even my father would be jealous of anyone in my life. That's what we've shown in the film as well. I feel it will, hopefully, connect with the audience. A father-daughter relationship can be really cute."
