Of late, Jackie Shroff has only been signed for cameos in big films (he’s got one in Dhoom:3), or big roles in films that no one has heard of (Cover Story: The Ultimate Interview, for instance). But now, if all goes as per plan, the veteran actor will share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s next directorial project, Happy New Year.

However, Jackie is yet to sign on the dotted line. “Nothing is confirmed yet as the negotiations are still on,” he says. The film might see him working with Shah Rukh after 11 years. They last acted together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas (2002).

Besides Dhoom:3, Jackie’s also got sizeable roles in Yash Raj Film’s Aurangzeb and KC Bokadia’s film, Dirty Politics.

Meanwhile, SRK is busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express, with Deepika Padukone.

Farah will only be able to start her film once this is over. Jackie says, “If I do the film, Shah Rukh and I will start shooting around April.”

Happy New Year is touted to be the story of four friends — played by SRK, John Abraham, Boman Irani and Abhishek Bachchan — who are forced to participate in a world dance championship. Farah, however, is still hunting for a leading lady to cast opposite
Shah Rukh.
