Jazbaa shines, earns Rs 4.23 crore on the opening day
Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa is a remake of Korean film Seven Days. Aishwarya Rai has returned to films with Jazbaa after five years.
Director Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan, is making the most of the positive word-of-mouth publicity coming its way, opening with an impressive Rs 4.23 crore on the ticket windows on October 9. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film’s business.

Jazbaa, promoted as Aishwarya’s comeback film, is the story of a top-notch lawyer who suddenly finds herself in the middle of a conspiracy. The only person who can help her in this pursuit is a morally ambiguous cop, Yohan (Irrfan Khan).
Sanjay Gupta, who has adapted acclaimed foreign films such as Reservoir Dogs and Old Boy in the past, has remade a Korean film, Seven Days, this time.

Jazbaa also features Shabana Azmi and Jackie Shroff in important roles. This is Irrfan Khan’s second release in consecutive weeks. He played an important role in director Meghna Gulzar’s Talvar that released last week.
