The actor decided to do this on the behest of a fan — a rickshaw driver who waits on the actor every day outside his office. The source says, “Whenever John has to travel somewhere nearby, he hops into the auto. So the driver made a special request to John, asking for a special screening for him and his friends, all of whom are John’s fans.”

It seems John readily agreed. The source says, “John will host the screening on either May 1 or 2. He is extremely ecstatic with the way the audience has taken to his new look.”

Apparently, John’s portrayal of slain gangster Manya Surve has been been appreciated by his fans. “A lot of people who gather outside his house and office shout out ‘Manya Manya’ whenever they see him. John is thrilled that everyone likes his look.”

John keeps on trucking

For the launch of the new song ‘Ala re ala’, from Shootout at Wadala, John will make a grand entry on an open-air truck. The actor will sport his look and dance to the number. He will be accompanied by a band on the truck. The event will be held today, April 16, at Chandan cinema, Juhu.
