Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra to work together on war hero Vikram Batra’s biopic
Sidharth Malhotra to play the role of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra in a biopic to be produced by Dharma Productions.
Karan Johar took to Twitter to announce his next production venture, which will star Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Before making the announcement he wrote, “True stories are always the best stories to tell....watch this space for an exciting @DharmaMovies announcement! Coming up!”

He hinted that his next film would be a biopic and then revealed, “Time to relive-Yeh Dil Mangey More. @DharmaMovies & Shabbir Boxwala collaborate to present the true story of bravery & patriotism-the chronicles of Kargil war hero Vikram Batra @S1dharthM in the lead as Sher Shah Vikram Batra Vishnu Varadhan to direct Written By Sandeep Shrivastava.”
Vikram Batra, the Sher Shah of Kargil was an officer of the Indian army who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Charkra for leading what is known to be one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in the country.
Speaking about his role in the biopic, Sidharth told PTI, “Movies have a great impact, they live for long. There is a pressure of living up to the idea of what their son has done. That is why we are taking more time to start the film. We want to work properly on the story. It is not a fictitious story that I want to jump into it. I hope whenever the film comes out the family is happy and proud.”
Sidharth was last seen in Neeraj Pandey’s film Aiyaary in which he played the role of an army officer.
