Kareena Kapoor is sure Ranbir Kapoor is right for Sanju.

Kareena Kapoor Khan belongs to a very talented family and she knows it quite well. The Bollywood actor was asked about her cousin Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film, a biopic of actor Sanjay Dutt, and if he is the right choice for it and the proud sister said she’s sure he is.

Kareena was in Delhi for a promotional event for a jewellery brand that she endorses when she was asked about the upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic, Sanju, starring Ranbir in the lead role. According to a report in DNA she said, “Who better than Ranbir Kapoor to replicate the life of Sanjay Dutt. I don’t think there’s anyone better than him.”

The trailer for Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, was released on April 24. Ranbir’s several looks from the film were appreciated for their resemblance to Sanjay.

When asked about how he could recreate Sanjay’s life on screen, Ranbir said, “I have always been a Sanjay Dutt fan. For me, it was a fan trying to play his icon. So I think the hardest thing I did was to give myself the confidence that I can play this man.

“When Raju sir told me about this film, I didn’t have the confidence because I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. I don’t have the courage, don’t have the understanding or the acting chops to do it. This is not an acting gig for me. I haven’t tried to show good acting, bad acting or showcase my talent. I think it was just the opportunity to be part of a story of a person who I consider to be my icon,” he said.

Presented by Fox Star Studios, the film will release on June 29.
