KSKHH's Fakhruddin draws flak
'What's in a name?' you may ask. Well, there's more than what meets the ears, if the name in question is Fakhruddin. This is what the makers of the upcoming film Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (KSKHH)faced.
'What's in a name?' you may ask. Well, there's more than what meets the ears, if the name in question is Fakhruddin. This is what the makers of the upcoming film Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (KSKHH)
faced.
Here's the situation. The makers of the film
Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum had named the pug (that also plays a central character in the film) as Fakhruddin. This is something that has not gone well with the family of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, who was India's fifth President. His family has now objected to the dog in the film being called by this name. Imtiyaz Rasul, the nephew of the former President said that it's highly objectionable and that such things dishonor our former President. He also added that he will now be consulting his son Dr. Parvesh Ahmed to finalize how to take up the case in a big way. To this, Tanuj garg (CEO- Balaji Motion Pictures) said that the request is unbelievably bizarre as the said name is a proper noun.
If the objection from the former President's family wasn't enough, the filmmakers have more trouble in waiting, this time in the form Ekta Trust, a Delhi based Muslim Trust. Dr. Aleem of this trust has threatened legal actions against the film's makers. He said that such things are bound to hurt the religious sentiments as the meaning of the very name 'Fakhruddin' means 'pride of the faith'. What really upset him is the fact that in their religion, dogs are prohibited, whereas they have named a dog as Fakhruddin! He also threatened that if the film releases, then they will file a case against the makers in Delhi High Court.
