Manisha Koirala’s Nargis Dutt look from Sanjay Dutt biopic leaks, makers confirm film’s release date

Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic will hit theatres on June 29. The look of Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt also emerged on social media.

Another box office clash has just been averted. A day after Sajid Nadiadwala announced the release date of his upcoming film with Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, Baagji 2, on the same date as Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt’s biopic was expected to hit theatres, producers of the latter have unveiled the official release date. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Dutt biopic will hit theatres on June 29, Fox Star Hindi announced Friday morning.

Confirming the release date, the official handle of Fox Star Hindi tweeted, “The no-holds-barred story of Sanjay Dutt, directed by @RajkumarHirani, #DuttBiopic releasing on June 29! A Fox Star Studios presentation, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and #RajkumarHirani. #RanbirKapoor.”

The news came on a day when manisha Koirala’s pics from the film’s shooting -- where she is allegedly in her get-up as Nargis Dutt -- appeared online.

The photos of the 47-year-old actor from Cape Town where Ranbir, director Rajkumar Hirani and other cast and crew have shot for the film are going viral on social media.

While the title of the biopic is yet to be officially announced, fans have already started calling it Sanju, which is how Dutt’s fans affectionately call him in real life — Sanju baba. With Ranbir playing Baba and if the leaked stills of Ranbir as Sanjay are anything to go by, this film will certainly give another boost to Ranbir’s stardom. Dia Mirza essays the role Maanyata Dutt, Sanjay’s current wife while Karishma Tanna and Vicky Kaushal will be seen in supporting roles. Manisha Koirala will play Nargis Dutt while Paresh Rawal essay the role of Sunil Dutt.
