Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mimoh and actor Madalsa Sharma got married in Ooty on Tuesday in what can be called a low-key wedding by Bollwyood standards. The wedding has been in focus after a Bhojpuri actor accused Mimoh of raping her over four years under the pretext of marriage. Post the complaint, the mother and son filed for an anticipatory bail, which was granted to them by a Delhi court. Then came reports that the July 7 wedding had been called off after police arrived at the venue.

Now, Madalsa’s mother, character actor Sheela Sharma, has spoken about the matter and rubbished the claims made by the Bhojpuri actor. She categorically stated that no police came to the wedding venue.

Mimoh’s mother-in-law was quoted by Mid Day as saying: “No cops came calling, all that was reported was just rumours, we are shocked that anyone could write such things.” She also refuted the allegation that Yogeeta has threatened the actor in question.

The wedding was scheduled to take place on Saturday last but was postponed after the Bhojpuri actor’s complaint and court proceedings thereafter. Sheela, however, insisted that the claims made by the actor were false. The couple had a registered marriage in the morning on July 10 and the traditional wedding took place a day later, followed by a mehendi ceremony, she added.

The Chakraborty and Sharma families have known each other for years. Subhash and Mithun were batch mates at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Her husband’s first film, Tere Pyar Mein featured Mithun in it. She further said that the families had known each other for long and that it was an honour to be associated with them.
