Bollywood has definitely run short of creative tunes, and that’s why music composers are going after old hits. The latest in the list of such composers are Gourav-Roshin, who have remixed Pakistani singer Hasan Jahangir’s ’80s hit, Hawa hawa.
Mubarakan is directed by Anees Bazmee.
Unfortunately, the remix, sung by Mika Singh and Prakriti Kakkar, is not a patch on the original. It sounds like a regular Bollywood song with lyrics completely butchering the original theme.
Consider these lines: Boyfriend Bana Le Kisi aur ko pata le.
With this as the recurring line, the song has been picturised on Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz. They have indulged in a banter, but that doesn’t make the song look good.
Directed by Anees Bazmee, Mubarakan also stars Anil Kapoor and Athiya Shetty.
Conceived as the next top party song, Hawa Hawa also feature a rap by Mika Singh, but overall it’s a disappointing number.
Mubarakan will hit the screens on July 28, 2017.
