My father says that there can only be one Salman Khan: Sohail Khan
Sohail Khan also says that we should be ready to accept our failures, learn from them and move ahead in life.bollywood Updated: Feb 16, 2017 21:16 IST
Actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan finds his brother, actor Salman Khan, extremely hard-working. “My father (Salim Khan) says that in India and also in the world there can only be one Salman Khan. We are really very proud of him. He is a hardworking guy and we all wish that he continues his good run throughout,” Sohail says.
The actor- filmmaker nowadays is in introspective mode. Freaky Ali, his last directorial venture, didn’t do well at the box office and he also shares that after the film failed, he even tried to find out where he went wrong.
“Freaky Ali’s failure was a learning for me. As makers and film lovers we all thrive on good and hit films. I feel that a hit film is a good film and a flop film is a bad film. Like success, we must also be ready to accept our failures. You make a film for the audience to appreciate it and if they haven’t then something must have gone wrong. So, I honestly feel that I have lacked in Freaky Ali and I am trying to correct the mistakes in my next projects,” says Sohail, who had also produced the film.
Praising actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who played the lead in the film, Sohail adds, “But I must confess that I had a wonderful time working with Nawaz. He is a fabulous actor who knows what is required out of him. I would love to work with Nawaz again.”
Meanwhile, Sohail has just finished shooting for Salman Khan’s upcoming film and is busy scripting two films, My Punjabi Nikaah and Sher Khan. “I plan to direct one and produce both the films. While we are planning to go on floors with Sher Khan, end of this year, work on My Punjabi Nikaah may start in 2018. We are yet to decide on the cast for both the films. For my films, the script is more important than the actor, hence we will cast accordingly,” he says.
About the current trend of biopics in Bollywood, Sohail shares that he would also love to be a part of one of them but everything depends on the role. “Biopics aren’t easy. You need to get into the skin of the character so that you avoid making mistakes,” he adds.
