There has been a lot of speculation around Ranvir Shorey and Konkona Sensharma’s marriage for a while now. However, Ranvir says that he doesn’t believe in giving explanations for his personal matters. “Yes, there has been speculation. But, my marriage is not up for public scrutiny, and I am not obliged to answer questions about my personal life. I can’t go around clarifying fictitious stories,” says the actor, who shares screen space with his wife in a new film.

The rumours about the couple’s split started doing the rounds after Konkona missed a promotional event for the film. However, Ranvir clarifies that it was because their four-year old son, Haroon, was unwell. “He was suffering from viral fever. Koko (Konkona) couldn’t come for a few promotional events as one of us had to stay at home with him,” says Ranvir.

Recalling another rumour that did the rounds in the past, the Bollywood actor says, “This was long back, when we were still dating. One of the journalists messaged me that she was going to run a story about me. She said she saw me getting cosy with some other woman at a nightclub. And I replied, telling her that it wasn’t true. Yet, the story came out. I felt violated. How could they just go ahead and print a false story, when I was offering them facts? They misquoted and misreported. But now,I don’t get affected by these things.”
